A limited competition win for a new children's play park as part of the House for an Art Lover grounds in Glasgow's Bellahouston Park. Key to the proposal was finding a balance between the constraints of the budget and practicalities of maintenance, and forming an imaginative landscape that creates opportunites and places within which artworks can be gradually added and children and adults can lose themselves in play. A landscaped 'carpet' of eliptical mounds and bowls makes reference to the repeated organic patterns in Mackintosh's designs whilst physically creating a series of intertwining routes for running and places for activity and objects. The proposal explores how the new landscape can bring a dynamic character to the existing area of park and develop a relationship with the house.
