Whether a major public project or a private commission, our projects aim to demonstrate the potential that can be achieved through considered design. We work closely with our clients to develop a climate for discussion that allows exploration and understanding of their needs and also, exposure to ideas and possibilities beyond the expectations of their current situation. Where possible, we try to involve people associated at all levels of a project to take on the issues and needs of not simply those who are commissioning a building, but those who are involved daily in its use and operation. We also aim to engender an awareness of the particular constraints and qualities of the wider surroundings and people they affect beyond the immediate boundaries of a site. Whether within a city or a rural location, spatial development is informed through a combination of efficiency of use and a response to surroundings, and experience, shape, views, approach and movement through a site.
