The Civic Trust Awards were established in 1959 and are one of the oldest built environment award schemes in Europe. They are given to outstanding projects in architecture, planning, environmental design, landscape, public art and urban design.

This new building creates an integrated cultural campus and includes multi function space, rehearsal rooms and a community library. The scheme acts as much needed bridge between the local community and the college. A well designed scheme with exhilarating and exciting interiors. Simple and robust detailing provides a welcoming entrance hall and approach. Access is excellent, with ramps connecting the different levels, and even the theatre space, including gantries, is fully accessible.
