At the suggestion of the Scottish Arts Council, Gareth Hoskins Architects were commissioned to provide specialized design input for the refurbishment of the Buccleuch Halls in Langholm, for Dumfries & Galloway Council.
The Halls were popular as a performing arts venue, but they were becoming tired, dated and in serious need of a new lease of life in order to promote and prolong their use as a first rate performance venue. Gareth Hoskins Architects put forward their proposals which included, among other features, creating a new entrance and adding overcladding to the building to improve its thermal abilities.
