A competition was created to provide an exemplar building for the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority that both demonstrated the standard of new development expected within the Park, and preserve its core aims of natural and cultural heritage with sustainable features.

As a gateway to the National Park, our approach to the competition was to orientate the building so that it acted as a link between the entrance to the country park and the Haldane Green Corridor Community Park. The office space was lifted onto the upper floor benefiting from natural daylighting throughout and scenic views of Loch Lomond. The headquarters’ on the lower ground floor could become a shop window through which the community, businesses, researchers and visitors could easily access information on the latest developments in the Park by attending exhibitions and planning consultations.
