A project within Dundee's historic town centre for the new £4M students centre for Abertay University. The new centre provides a wide range of social and support facilities for students, including cafes, bars, games areas, gyms, club areas and cinema. The project looks to create a building that moves away from the image of the student union, to form a focus and icon for the students and the newly formed university. The four storey building wraps around the north edge of an entire city block, its silver clad upper floors lifted above a glazed ground floor to allow views into the building and activities and events to spill out onto the street. The different activities are organised around a full height space allowing daylight to flood through the interior and students to easily see the facilities that are available.
