Clare studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh, and became a registered architect in 1990. She then spent two years in London specialising in community led housing projects before moving to work in Berlin for six years. Here she worked on a variety of challenging projects including a large three tier primary school and a prison for young offenders. After moving back to Glasgow in 1997, Clare worked on nursing homes, hotels and city centre luxury apartments. She joined Hoskins Architects in 2002 and became an Associate in 2005, with further promotion to Projects Director in 2008 and Director in 2014.

Clare’s main responsibilities and skills lie with the design development for new projects, client board presentations and liaison; as well as cost, resource and programme management. Her projects have won accolades such as the Roses Design Award, Scottish Design Award and Glasgow Institute of Architects Design Award. Clare’s experience in architecture ranges from social housing, healthcare and schools, through to arts venues and museum projects. She is also very experienced in masterplanning, and recently was Project Director on the Trump International Golf Links masterplan and the Commonwealth Games regeneration masterplan.

Clare was responsible for co-ordinating the Notre Dame school campus project in Glasgow’s West End. Clare headed up the design team for the Community Health Centre and Day Nursery in Partick, which went on to win a number of awards. She oversaw the Ballymena Health and Care Centre in Northern Ireland, which was completed early 2016. Clare has also just completed Eastwood Health and Care Centre for hub West Scotland. This is an exemplar design and will act as a reference project for future primary care projects in Scotland.
