Although last year’s trip was a complete wash out, Gareth Hoskins Architects decided to risk a do-over for the annual summer barbeque with a return visit to Finlaystone Country Park on Friday 06 August 2010. This year’s event, attended also by family and friends, was awaited with mounting trepidation as the weather forecast was appalling for the end of the week. Not to be deterred the team added an increased supply of golfing umbrellas to the mouthwatering selection of food packed onto the bus and set out West. The journey was marked by heavy rain and fine mist blocking out all views, but in a reverse of last year, the sky over the park remained miraculously clear throughout the day. The children (and a few adults who shall remain nameless) all took full advantage of the better weather and spent most of the day on the adventure playground. And the less said about the somewhat destructive rounders game, the better!
