Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre is runner-up for Scotland's premier architecture award
Gareth Hoskins Architects narrowly lost out on Sotland’s premier Architecture Award, the RIAS Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award.
From eleven shortlisted projects the judges selected three projects which they considered were of particular merit: Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre by Gareth Hoskins Architects, Castlemilk Stables Restoration by Elder and Cannon Architects and the new Informatics Forum of Edinburgh University by Bennetts Associates.
Unable to decide on a clear winner the judging panel chaired by Professor Andy MacMillan decided to share the £25,000 prize between Elder & Cannon Architects and Bennetts Associates whilst he Culloden Battlefield received a special mentioning as the runner-up.
An exhibition showcasing the shortlisted buildings and the winners will tour throughout Scotland over the coming months.
