Gareth Hoskins Architects’ design for the new cinema and music venue, Mareel, in Lerwick, Shetland was awarded £2.12m by the Scottish Arts Council Capital Lottery Fund. This decision represents a vote of confidence in the project, which will see a live music venue, two cinema screens and a range of educational and community facilities being built on a prominent waterfront site next to the Shetland Museum and Archive.
