Having received fantastic reviews from performers and patrons alike during its soft opening period Mareel, Shetland’s Music and Cinema venue, designed by Gareth Hoskins Architects, will be officially opened this weekend.

Shetland Arts is gearing up for a busy Opening Weekend with events to include Shetland Meets Appalachia, Scottish indie-band Aberfeldy, the famous Dougie MacLean, a selection of local live music in the Café Bar, Opening Celebration speeches, an Exhibition Opening with Artist Callum Moncrieff, and other forms of celebration to be revealed on Saturday.
